Ken Foster May 11 Book Talk

“The Dogs Who Found Me”

National Author comes to Pinckney

Love dogs? Well, about 8 people and 3 dogs attended the 6:30pm, Thursday, May 11 visit by author Ken Foster and found out more about the stray dogs that have come and gone in his life and helped him face some of the tough situations he’d found himself over the years—starting with his experience living in New York during the time of the 9-11 attacks of the World Trade Center Towers. This experience and others were recounted in his book, The Dogs Who Found Me.

“I found it to be both an entertaining and informative experience,” remarked Anne Render of Pinckney, who had attended the program.

Ken Foster read passages from his book and answered a few questions from attendees that evening. Mr. Foster is the editor of two anthologies, including Dog Culture. His collection of short stories, The Kind I’m Likely to Get, was a New York Times Notable Book. His work has appeared in the New York Times Book Review, The San Francisco Chronicle, McSweeney’s and The Believer. He has taught at the New School, Florida State University, and the University of Southern Mississippi. He lives in New Orleans, with at least three dogs.
